Fargo adventurers -- Find or how to take the doors, roof off of your Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler may be adventure-ready, but it still requires a bit of elbow grease to have it fully prepared for the off-roads ahead. This convertible SUV easily transforms into an airy, off-road vehicle with just a few tools.

Here's how to take the doors off of a Jeep Wrangler:

  1. Fold the side mirrors in.
  2. Roll down the window for easier removal.
  3. Remove black safety strap from the door.
  4. Disconnect the power cables by moving the tab across the wiring harness. (Skip this step if your Wrangler does not have power accessories.)
  5. Remove the nuts on the bottom of each bolt from bottom to top with a 13 mm socket and wrench.
  6. Lift the door straight up.
  7. Disable the door alarm and door light.

Here's how to take the hardtop roof off of a Jeep Wrangler:

  1. Starting with the left side, unclip and move the sub visor.
  2. Turn center and rear L-shaped locks.
  3. Turn rear fastener knobs counter-clockwise.
  4. Unlatch header panel latch.
  5. Repeat steps on right side.
  6. For the four-door Wrangler Unlimited, remove two Torx head screws at the rear of the front door using a T40 Torz Head Driver.
  7. Remove three Torx head screws per side (total of six).
  8. Release the red locking tab from the wiring harness on the left rear inside corner of the Wrangler.
  9. To remove wiring harness, press the side tab and pull downward.
  10. Pinch the grips on the rear window washer hose connecter and pull downward to disconnect.
  11. Open the read swing gate and lift to remove the hard top.
